The Lewiston Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the
United States Census Bureau , is an area consisting of two counties – one in theIdaho Panhandle and the other in easternWashington , anchored by the city of Lewiston. As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 57,961 (though a July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 60,043).
