Peer Gynt Sculpture Park

Peer Gynt Sculpture Park

There are few monuments directly related to Henrik Ibsen’s works. The sculpture park the “Peer-Gynt Suite” in Oslo is created in honour of the man who is perhaps Norway’s most internationally famous literary figure, Henrik Ibsen. The collection of sculptures are inspired by themes from Ibsen’s famous play: ‘Peer Gynt’. The suite will consist of some 30 pieces when it is completed.

Most of the sculptures in the ‘Peer Gynt Suite’ are the result of an international sculpture competition hosted by the Norwegian construction company SELVAAG.

SELVAAG has a strong tradition of installing works of sculpture in its housing developments. Since the 1950s the company has installed over 400 neighbourhood sculptures.
