United States House of Representatives elections in South Carolina, 2008

The 2008 South Carolina House of Representatives elections will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. The primary elections were held on June 10 and the runoff elections were held two weeks later on June 24. The current composition of the state delegation is four Republicans and two Democrats.

All seats are considered safe for their incumbent parties.

Congressional Districts

District 1

Incumbent Republican Congressman Henry E. Brown, Jr. ( [http://www.henrybrownforcongress.com/ campaign website] ) has been in office since 2002, but is facing a strong challenger in Linda Ketner ( [http://www.lindaketner.com/ campaign website] ), the Democratic nominee. He was opposed in the Republican primary by Katherine Jenerette and Paul V. Norris. Ketner was opposed by Ben Frasier. CQ Politics forecasts the race as 'Safe Republican'.

Incumbent Republican Congressman Joe Wilson ( [http://www.joewilsonforcongress.com/ campaign website] ) has been in office since 2001 and is facing off against Democrat and Iraq War Veteran Rob Miller ( [http://www.robmillerforcongress.com/ campaign website] ). Wilson won against Phil Black in the Republican primary, and Miller won against Blaine Lotz in the Democratic primary. CQ Politics forecasts the race as 'Safe Republican'.

Incumbent Republican Congressman Bob Inglis has been in office since 2005 and is expected to win re-election. He is opposed in the Republican primary by Charles Jeter.
