Houston, Texas and XCW Wrestling inDenton, Texas .Zane would go on to develop the character "Violent Z" with the help of the writers and staff of Professional Championship Wrestling - Texas with which he found much success wrestling as a heel for the first time on a full time basis.
In 2005 Zane reunited with his good friends and wrestling partners Joey Corman and Samir, who dubbed themselves "The Overboyz" with fellow wrestler Kevin Douglas during a road trip to wrestle each other for
NWA Wildside . They took the name because during the match, even though they were unknowns in the area, they had gotten "over".
