Peter Quillin

Peter Quillin (b. June 22, 1983 in Chicago) is a US-American middleweight boxer who is touted as a good prospect due to his spectacular power.

Career

Quillin whose father is Cuban and who grew up in Grand Rapids calls himself "Kid Chocolate" after his famous role model. He only has 15 amateur fights to his credit.The tall aggressive Quillin turned pro in New York and signed with Cedric Kushner and had most of his fights on television flaunting one-punch knockout power in either hands that build him a huge following despite his average opposition and lack of amateur pedigree.

In April 2008, Quillin dominated former contender Antwun Echols.

On June 11, 2008, Quillin defeated Dionisio Miranda by unanimous decision at the Hard rock in New York City. Quillin won most of the early rounds of the fight and appeared to be cruising along in the seventh round, when Miranda hurt Quillin with a powerful left-right combination that sent Quillin retreating to the ropes, where Miranda unloaded on Quillin with 14 consecutive unanswered punches. However, Miranda soon punched himself out, which allowed a badly shaken Quillin to survive the round. Quillin would recover well in the eight round, and fight effectively in the last two rounds of the fight. The final judges’ scores were 97-92, 97-92 and 97-93. [cite web
