Marc Bangels is a Belgian medical doctor and biomedical information technology graduate, who is a medical telematics expert at the Belgian Ministry of Social Affairs and Public Health.

Career

He started his career as a researcher in artificial intelligence applied to medicine and health care information systems consultant. Then he worked for six years for Médecins Sans Frontières (E:Doctors Without Borders) as information technology manager and internal dynamics department director.

Currently he is an expert for the Health Care Administration of the national Belgian Ministry of Social Affairs and Public Health in charge of the development of the Health Care Informatics and Telematics in the country. Marc Bangels is secretary of the Commission Norms for Telematics in relation to the Health Sector and a member of various national and international working-groups for the promotion and the coordination of information technology implementation in the public health sector.
