- Frank Robben
Frank Robben (born 16 March 1961) is a Belgian lawyer and specialist in legal informatics and social security. He is general manager of the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Social Security, which he conceived and founded. The crossroads bank is part of the Belgian eGovernment initiative.
Education
He graduated in law at
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1984 with a specialization inlegal informatics andsocial security . In 1985 he further specialized at theEberhard Karls University of Tübingen and theMax Planck Institute for Foreign and International Social Law inMunich . In 1987 he obtained a postgraduate in computer auditing at theUniversity of Antwerp (IPO) and obtained anMBA at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1992.Career
He started his career at the age of 26 as an
attaché at thecabinet ofJean-Luc Dehaene . Frank Robben is co-founder of and researcher at the "Interdisciplinary Centre for Law and Information Technology" (ICRI) at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and lectures on business administration at the faculty of law of the university.He is general manager of the Crossroads Bank for Social Security andCEO ofSmals , an ICT-service provider for the Belgian social security sector. Frank Robben is co-founder and a member of the Board of Directors ofBeHealth and theBelgian Health Telematics Commission . In addition he is strategic advisor atFedict , where he developed the concept of theelectronic identity card and the company register. He provides advice on the general information security and privacy protection policy of theBelgian federal government . He is a member of several commissions on eGovernment providing advice to the Belgian and Dutch government and theEuropean Union .Awards
