GOOM

GOOM

GOOM is an annual students' party event held in Finland. The party takes place on a cruise ship rented for the exclusive use of the event. As is typical of most Finnish student parties, the event consists mainly of drinking alcoholic beverages, dressing up in a silly way and making bad jokes. Several big-name Finnish bands perform on the cruises each year. Which words the name "GOOM" comes from varies from year to year, but it generally refers to some kind of big student party.

There are several GOOM-cruises each year (four back-to-back cruises in February 2006). Cruises depart from Turku, Finland.
