- HMS Swiftsure (1750)
HMS "Swiftsure" was a 70-gun
third rate ship of the line of theRoyal Navy , built atDeptford Dockyard to the draught specified by the1745 Establishment , and launched on25 May 1750 .She served in the
Seven Years War , taking part in the capture of "Le Foudroyant" by HMS "Monmouth" in 1758. In 1759 she was with Admiral Boscawen at Lagos, and at Quiberon Bay later that year, and at the capture ofBelle Île in 1761.She was sold on
