Abdel Sattar Sabry (born June 19, 1974 in Cairo) is an Egyptian footballer currently with El Geish, as an attacking midfielder.

Club career

A skilled offensive player, Sabry started playing with Al-Mokawloon al-Arab, moving abroad in 1997-98 to represent Austria's FC Tirol Innsbruck. He started 1999-00 with Greek Super League outfit of PAOK FC, but switched in January 2000 to SL Benfica. In that season, he scored a last-minute free kick against Sporting Lisbon, in a 1-0 away success that postponed Sporting's eventual championship victory.

Sabry would play in Portugal until May 2004, representing C.S. Marítimo (January 2002-June 2003) and C.F. Estrela da Amadora (2003-04). He subsequently returned to Egypt, playing with ENPPI for a few months and joining El Geish shortly after.

International career

A prominent feature in the Egypt national football team, Sabry gained his first international cap against Angola in 1996. He was part of the All-Africa Games gold medal winning side of 1995 All-Africa Games, and featured in the 1998 African Cup of Nations winning team.
