Ruben Simonov

Ruben Simonov ( _ru. "Рубен Николаевич Симонов"; 1899, Moscow - 1968, Moscow), was a Soviet artist and director, Peoples Artist of the USSR, Professor. Awarded by the State Prize of the USSR title (1943, 1947, 1950).

Simonov was born in a family of Russian-Armenians. Graduated from the Moscow State University. Then he became an actor, since 1939 - the chief director of Vakhtangov Theatre. He also ruled the Armenian and Uzbek theatres of Moscow.
