Casa Santa Museum

Casa Santa and Jardin de Miramar, a three-hectare compound in Antipolo, Philippines, is home to the art of artists like Michael Cacnio and Eduardo Castrillo. Their sculptures can be found in Jardin de Miramar’s garden which were landscaped by CCP Artist awardee Tony Leano.

Aside from the sculptures, Casa Santa is located inside the Jardin de Miramar. The Casa Santa house is a former house remodeled by folk architect Rosario Encarnacion Tan. Jardin commissioned the Japanese lighting designer, Shoko Matsumoto and proceeded to convert the house into a live-in museum. It now contains the Jardin’s large “Santa” collection with over 2,000 Santas. It has Santa Clauses in many sizes and configuration. Everything from Santa blankets to a chessboard with Santa figurines to Swarovski Santas riddle throughout the house. It even has life-size moving versions of Mr and Mrs Santa singing Christmas carols. Casa Santa started out as s small personal collection and it grew in size until it needed a house where the Santas could live. Today, it remains probably one of the largest Santa collection.

Lastly, Jardin de Miramar features an authentic antique wooden fishing boat found in the Galera. It was artistically reconstructed by Ral Arrogante into a play area and the lighting design was also crafted by Shoko Matsumoto. And like any work of art, this old boat not only serves as a charming relic to look at. It is a hardworking piece of art where, together with the other attractions in the Galera, children can go hide and seek, go up and down the lighthouse and pyramid tree, run along the bridges, and play with the monkey swings. Indeed, Jardin de Miramar is a fun filled, living and breathing museum nestled under the canopy of nature.

Apart from the art collection in the Jardin de Miramar offers venue rental. The venue areas surrounding the Casa Santa allows people to celebrate special occasions in the presence of art and nature. Its soft launched to the market was held in 2005 and has been gaining popularity since then, specially as a wedding venue.
