radio station that broadcasted aClassic Hits format. Licensed toTiconderoga, New York , USA, the station served the North Country. The station was owned by Bisiblue, L.L.C.. The studio and its transmitter were both located on the shores of
Lake Champlain . In the early 1980s, a fire burned the original studios to the ground. Limestone Communications ran WIPS for a while, adding a FM version. WIPS broadcast sunrise to sunset. Most recently, WIPS was located inCrown Point, New York , 12 miles from the original site. At the time of its closure, WIPS was running theTimeless Favorites format fromABC Radio .After losing thousands of dollars per month, WIPS went silent on
