"Wheelin' and Dealin'" is an episode of the Happy Tree Friends Flash cartoon series. This is also the episode that introduces Lifty & Shifty, the kleptomaniac raccoon brothers that will steal anything for a quick buck.

It's off to the races in this episode of Happy Tree Friends! Start your engines and gear up to win, but watch out for Lifty and Shifty, as they'll do anything necessary to keep the lead. Plot

It's a nice, sunny day at the races for Lumpy, Handy, and Lifty and Shifty, but Lifty and Shifty aren't having it so great; their kart has no wheels, with the race about to start the duo have an idea. The flag waves, and they're off, except for Lumpy, who has seems to have lost his wheels, and trying to restart his kart only causes an explosion that sets it on fire and causes him to be covered head to toe in soot.

As Handy, Lifty and Shifty speed down the road, the first turn arrives, only for Lifty and Shifty to realise they have no steering wheel. Handy laughs at the pair because they are about to crash, but, as he is laughing, the two steal his steering wheel and making the turn, only to leave Handy slamming into an ambulance and being cut in half by his own kart running underneath, then losing his intestines.

Lifty and Shifty can see the finish line, they're about to win, but, as luck would have it, their entire kart falls apart and onto its side; not only denting the paint job, but causing Lifty and Shifty to become bloody mushes in their seats, just missing the finish line. Then Lumpy appears, sliding along in his burning kart claiming victory, and leaving Lifty and Shifty in his dust.

Moral

"Look both ways before crossing the street!"

Deaths

*Lifty and Shifty possibly kill Lumpy when they set him on fire. He may have burnt to death (debatable)
*Lifty & Shifty kill Handy when they steal his steering wheel, which made him unable to turn away from the ambulance, his off collides into it, while his bottom half is cut away when his kart goes under the ambulance, dropping his intestines out of his body.
*Lifty and Shifty both die when their kart falls apart and slides on its side, scraping away half of their bodies, enough to kill them.

Goofs

*As the ambulance comes into view, you will notice that Shifty does not have his fedora on, making the pair of them identical, and his Fedora should have been on at the time.

Cultural References

The title of this episode may be a reference to the 1957 John Coltrane, Mal Waldron, and Frank Wess jazz album of the same name.
