Robert Bagg

Robert Bagg (born 1935, New Jersey) [cite web| title = Gloria Victis 1956| publisher = Hollandiai Magyar Szovetseg | url = http://www.federatio.org/mi_bibl/GloriaVictis1956.pdf| format = PDF| accessdate = 2008-01-28] is an American poet and translator. He has published several volumes of poetry and has authored critical studies of Sappho and Catallus. [Bagg, Robert. "Hippolytos". New York: Oxford University Press. 1973. Recognition for his work includes receiving a Guggenheim Fellowship for translation and a Prix de Rome for poetry.]

In addition to his other literary work, Bagg taught English at the University of Massachusetts (1965–1996), serving as Department Chair (1986–92). [cite web
