Gérard Deprez

Gérard M.J. Deprez (born on 13 August 1943 in Noville-Bastogne)is a Belgian politician and
Member of the European Parliament for the French Community of Belgiumwith the MR/MCC/PRL,part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe and sits onthe European Parliament's Committee on Budgets.

He is a substitute for the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs anda member of the Delegation to the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee.

* 1963-1967: Degree in sociology

* 1966-1974: Assistant lecturer at the Catholic University of Louvain
* 1966-1974: Lecturer of the Workers' Higher Education Institute
* 1969-1974: Associate Member of the University Association for Research and Administration
* 1974-1975: Adviser in the office of the Minister for French Culture
* 1975-1978: Political adviser to the President of the PSC
* 1979-1981: Head of the Deputy Prime Minister's office
* 1978-1979: PSC-CVP general policy secretary
* 1981-1996: President of the PSC
* 1998: Founder of the MCC party
* 1998: Chairman of the MCC executive
* 1998: Vice-President of the Reform Movement
* 1981-1996: Member of the EPP policy bureau
* since 1984: Member of the European Parliament
