Cut Syamsurniati

Cut Syamsurniati is an Indonesian woman from the village of Pusong in Indonesia's Aceh province. When her village was attacked in January 1999, she led a group of village women who negotiated with the military and escorted wounded people out of their village to the nearby town of Lhokseumawe for treatment. Her actions led to her being hired at the NGO Rehabilitation Action for Victims of Torture in Aceh (RATAH).
