8 January 1998 ) is a Japanesekabuki actor, the first to bear the name. He is the eldest son ofNakamura Senjaku III and grandson ofSakata Tōjūrō IV .He made his stage debut at the age of 3, in November 2001 at the
Kabuki-za in Tokyo, playing the child Mitsumaru in "Rōben Sugi no Yūrai "; the story centers around a mother seeking to rescue her infant son, Mitsumaru, who was kidnapped by an eagle. Mitsumaru later grows up to be the great monk Rōben. He then went on to make his Osaka stage debut in January 2004, playing a monkey child in "Kotobuki Utsubozaru ".The young actor formally took on the stage name Nakamura Toranosuke in January 2006, when he played the role of Senmatsu in "
Meiboku Sendai Hagi ". Up until then he had performed under his birth name.Toranosuke's crest ("mon") is the "
kanji " for "tiger" (虎, the "tora" in Toranosuke) inscribed within the outline of a sparrow (雀, the "jaku" in Senjaku).References
