Elections Act 2001

The Elections Act 2001 was a United Kingdom Act of Parliament postponing the local government elections in England and Wales from 3 May, 2001 to 7 June, 2001 and in Northern Ireland, postponing local elections from 16 May, 2001 to 7 June, 2001. In Northern Ireland, it also required polls to be taken together on the day. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland it also increased candidates expenses by 50%.
