History

The SKN St. Poelten was after dissolving its unofficial predecessor, the FCN St. Poelten and its predecessor the VSE St. Poelten in June 2000. The new club over all of FCN infrastructure, the stadium and also the patronage of the Bundesliga junior center. Through the acquisition of BNZ St. Poelten SKN was not as a newly founded association usual in the last game lima class, but was allowed in the 2nd Land League West, the fifth level.

Already in its first season made the team immediately to the championship in 2nd Land League, and thus the rise in the fourth level of performance. In the 1st Land League voted the club in the 2001/02 season succession with the next track profits to the state champion and managed so that the marching into the Regional League East. In the same year, the game SKN also in the finals of the Lower Austria Cup, but there had to surprise the team from Theresienfeld beaten.

In the regional league reached St. Poelten in the 2002/03 season premiere only the tenth table space, but increased the following year to the fourth Endrang. In the 2004/05 season the club won the sixth rank and came in ÖFB Cup over SV Wörgl (3:0), black-and-white Bregenz (2-1) and Austria Salzburg (5:1) sensationally in the quarter-finals. When surprise victory on Voith place on the Bundesligigsten from Salzburg did this mainly Prenner with three killer and with two gates. In the quarter-finals, St. Poelten, 27 April 2005 against Austria Wien no chance and resigned with a 0:6 defeat from the candidate.

In the game year 2005/06 the defeat Austrians fought to the last moment to move up to the first league, but had at the end of the season by one point this afternoon Look to the SC ESV Parndorf 1919. The stated goal in the 2006/07 season was the first rise in the league. After weak performance in the autumn of 2006 and some vereinsinternen quarrels, in the course of which the athletic director Markus Kernal was dismissed, but this goal was dropped. In the 2006/2007 winter break returned several players master the club back. The manager Raphael Landthaler joined believes differences with Anton pepper at the end of Novermber 2006. A few days before the start of training, and after 8 weeks of leave was also the trainer Walter Hörmann back to sports coordinator Sturm Graz. New coach Martin Scherb, work colleague of Supervisory Board member Anton Pfeffer. In the spring season was the SKN tapered with a strong team behind champion überrraschenderweise Schwadorf the second most team. Remarkably, the scandal game against the budding champions, SKN with three players after the highly controversial leadership matches for Schwadorf shortly before the end of play were excluded. It was the only yellow / red or red cards for SKN players throughout the 2006/2007 season.

At the end of June 2007, Chairman Christian WALTER entirely surprising his office and the Supervisory Board Chairman and former Chairman Sepp Hintermaier back over his office. Officially, it happened for professional reasons. We believe, however, rumours that the umpire exchange from the country NÖ wanted or was forced, because only a few days after the exchange is known Landesrätin Dr. Petra Bohuslav clearly SKN St. Poelten, and also announced the construction of a new football stadium by 2011.

The goal for the season 2007/2008 was originally a place among the top five since the attainment of the Masters title on the basis of the given conditions (very young and less experienced team), according to club management before the season as unrealistic and also represented some of the other teams, like Vienna Vienna sports club or a multiple of budget available. Over the entire 2007 autumn season has been very good performances and outstanding results which led to several rounds to even the round table of the East Regional League held. Ultimately, it managed by 27.4.2007 (1:2 against Schwadorf) until 9.11.2007 (0:1 at Vienna), a series of 24 unbeaten games (20 wins, 4 tie) Amateur Championship and Cup.
