The town is situated on the left bank of
Dniester , and separated from the river by a concrete dam. There is a large reservoir near the town.Rîbniţa is home to

Downtown Rîbniţa has tall buildings and an active city life. It is also home to a large railway station and a river port, as well as a popular park near the reservoir. There are many historical and architectural monuments in the town and its surrounding areas. Rîbniţa has three places of worship located right next to each other: a Catholic church, an Orthodox church , and a
synagogue .In 2005, Râbniţa had a population of 53,648, [ [http://www.pridnestrovie.net/2004census.html pridnestrovie.net] ] out of which 45% were
Ukrainians , 25%Moldovans , 24%Russians , and 6% others.The main street is the town is the Victory Street. The town has a supermarket, "Sheriff".
The dance group "Yunost'" from Rîbniţa has been taking part in the most prestigious competitions in the world.
