"Titurel" is an epic-poem fragment written by
Wolfram von Eschenbach during the Middle High German period. Written in the form ofstanza s, it deals with the tragic story of Sigune's love for Schionatulander.According to Wolfram, Tituel is the founder of the dynasty of the
Holy Grail , and is the father of Frimutel and the grandfather ofParzival . This epic-poem fragment influenced countless numbers of poets of the Middle Ages. In the second half of the13th Century , Albrecht von Scharfenberg expanded it into a narration of over 6300 verses made up of stanzas of four lines per stanza.
