In astrology, a climacterial period occurs in certain years of a person's life because of the progression of the Moon and the transit of Saturn. The progressed Moon squares its natal position in the seventh year and trines it in the ninth year, so these years will be pivotal periods in a person's life. Saturn forms a similar pattern to the Moon as cycles through the signs of the zodiac. The path that Saturn and the Moon take mean that on the seventh year they square their natal position, on the fourteenth year they oppose their natal position, on the twenty-first year they square their natal position again, and finally on the twenty-eighth year they go full circle and conjoin with their natal positions.

The climacterial years are as follows:-

7, 9, 14, 18, 21, 27, 28, 35, 36, 42, 45, 49, 54, 56, 63, 70, 72, 77, 81, 84, 90, 91, 98, 99.

The sixty-third year is known as a Grand Climacteric year and is considered to be a crucial year in a person's life, so it important to expect a major event to occur at this time.
