They played in the top level of Kenyan professional football, the Kenyan Premier League [2], but were relegated in 2008 and in 2009 they play in the Nationwide League.
The team is owned by the Mathare Youth Sports Association [2]. The team was a feeder team for Mathare United, until Mathare Youth promoted to the Premier league to rival them.
