ERKUNT GROUP was established initially as a Casting and a pattern shop in 1953. By the year 1955, it had become a factory for casting and machining parts.The factory was chiefly engaged in the production of waste water pipes to NATO standards. Eight years of experience, success and increased capacity then made a further change imperative: in 1961 the company became a corporation. Henceforward it would produce intermediate goods for the automotive, agricultural tractor and motor industries, utilizing the most advanced technology of the day. Within the years, ERKUNT gained more shareholders, and currently provides employment for 174 white collar and 851 blue collar workers, totaling 1025 in a 50,000 ton/year capacity complex that is the leader in Turkey for gray and nodular casting production and mechanical processing. In a rapidly industrializing Turkey, ERKUNT plays a major role in providing high quality cast parts for the automotive, agricultural tractor and motor industries. For the past 15 years the company has increasingly been exporting its products to the advanced nations of Europe. Last years production was 40.000 tons. Erkunt exports %70 of her total production which %76 machined, %24 row Today, ERKUNT is an ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001 registered company and one of the largest independent casting and machining company in Europe After being comprised of 2 Casting Factories, 1 Machining Factory and 1 Factory producing Molding Sand, in 2003, Erkunt Group started tractor production with the establishment of ERKUNT TRACTOR IND. INC. and became a member of OEM group.

Tractor production started in September 2004. In the period of 3 years, 4000 tractors were sold in domestic market through 48 dealers. The company, which entered the market with only two models, is now able to appeal to 100% of the potential customers in Turkey with 17 different models between 58 and 80 Hps. At the end of year 2007, Erkunt's market share in Turkey is %12,5 and with this figure became the third biggest tractor manufacturer in Turkey.Erkunt distributes her tractors under ArmaTrac brand in international markets and works on distributorship basis. Currently, ERKUNT has distributors in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania in Europe and Sudan in Africa

In her second year of production ERKUNT obtained ISO-9001:2000 Quality Management System Certificate,ISO-14000 Environmental Management System Certificate andISO-OHSAS 18001 Optional Health and Safety Management System Certificat, and is now working on ISO-27001 Information Security Management Systems.

ERKUNT is the only Turkish and one of the limited European tractor manufacturers who has the all important Quality Certificates.

Moreover, ERKUNT has CE certificates for all types of her tractors and again is the only Turkish manufacturer who has this certificate.

ERKUNT is not manufacturing the tractors under licence of any worldwide brand. The tractors are designed by Turkish engineers, hence, this makes ERKUNT unique and pioneer in the Turkish tractor sector. Until today ERKUNT has attended all the important agricultural exhibitions like in Hannover/Germany, Bologne/Italy, Paris/France, Plovdiv & Dobric/Bulgaria, Khartoum/Sudan, NoviSad/Serbia, Tirana/Albania, Scopia/Macedonia and lately Bucharest/Romania.
