Lino Červar

Lino Červar (born September 22, 1950 in Delići near Vrsar, Croatia) is a Croatian team handball coach and politician, and former member of the Croatian Parliament.

Career as handball coach

Červar has been head coach for the Croatian men's national handball team from 2002. [http://www.ehf-euro.com/mens-euro-2008/teams/group-a/croatia.html "Croatia"] "European Handball Federation" (Retrieved on January 25, 2008)] He led the Croatian team to win the 2003 World Men's Handball Championship in Portugal. His team followed up by winning gold medals in the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, and the Croatian team received silver medals in the 2005 World Men's Handball Championship. The Croatian team received silver medals at the 2008 European Men's Handball Championship, after playing the final game against Denmark.

Political career

He was a member of the fifth assembly of the Croatian Parliament with the Croatian Democratic Union, which had its term from 2003 to 2007.
