railway station ofDrammenbanen between 1872 and 1989. After the construction of theOslo Tunnel the station became disused and replaced byOslo Central Station (Oslo S). Until its closure it was the main station for trains onSørlandsbanen , Drammenbanen andVestfoldbanen . There was no passenger rail connection toOslo Ø , the eastern station that served the eastern lines and trains to Bergen. The only connection wasHavnebanen that went partially through some of the most trafficked streets in Oslo.The station building was drawn by architect
Georg Andreas Bull inhistorism and built in tilestone. The fased againstRådhusplassen has two low towers diagonally against the buildings main direction. Windows and doors are arched. After the station closed, the building has been taken into use by among others theNobel Peace Centre .External links
