Layard Theatre

Layard Theatre

The Layard Theatre is situated inside Canford School and is open to the public. It seats 299 people and can also cater for people restricted to a wheelchair. Each year the students put on various productions, The Christmas term culminates with a musical with students from all years, the Easter term with a senior production and the Summer Term with a junior production.

The Director of Drama is Stephen Hattersley and the Technical Manager is Kevin Wilkins.

Also throughout the year, the theatre is hired out by touring companies, and is also used by the school for lectures and house plays.
