OVERIDER

OVERIDER

The brand name 'OVERIDER' goes back to 1869, when John Underwood produced a garment for horse riders to be worn called an "Overider". A highly successful Victorian businessman and innovator, he opened footwear factories and shoe shops in Leicester.

The factories have now closed, however his Great-grandson continued the name of 'Overider' and in 1993 launched a range of clothing and footwear for horse riders.

In 2001, Overider commissioned architects 'Verity & Beverley' to design their flagship store, based at The Church House, No.1 Church Street, Tetbury, Gloucestershire. This project involved the complete renovation of the medieval Church House, which date from the 15th Century and is mentioned in John Hexhams survey of 1594 and is one of the oldest buildings in the historic Cotswold market town of Tetbury.

Today, the Overider brand combines traditional values of manufacturing with new contemporary designs, producing clothing, footwear and accessories for the modern country persons lifestyle.
