Nihongo|Sesson Yūbai|雪村友梅|extra=1290—1348 was a Rinzai priest and poet who—along with his followers like Akamatsu Norimura—founded several Buddhist temples in Japan, including Houn-ji and Horin-ji. These temples were declared jissatsu by bakufu of Muromachi. Before founding these and other temples, he studied Linji Ch'an extensively under I-shan I-ning in China from 1307 to 1329. Along with his teacher, he is viewed as the founderof the "literature of the five mountains" (Winther-Tamaki, et al). [Hall, 300] [Katō, 105] [Winther-Tamaki, 83-84]
