"The Five Thirty Show" is a Scottish topical magazine show, which began broadcasting in Scotland on STV from Monday January 28, 2008. The show brings viewers all the top stories of the day across the country in a more relaxed style to its sister shows, "Scotland Today" and "North Tonight".

The programme is broadcast live from STV's Pacific Quay studios in Glasgow, with live link-ups to other parts of Scotland, and the World, often featuring.

The programme can be viewed again (for UK residents only) for up to a week after its original broadcast at the show's dedicated site within stv.tv.

According to early reports, revealed on STV's own news-blog "Northern Exposure", "The Five Thirty Show" has been outperforming popular daytime favourites "Neighbours" and "Richard & Judy" in the ratings. [cite news

Presenters

"The Five Thirty Show" is usually hosted by Stephen Jardine and Rachel McTavish, with Gerry McCullouch and Vicky Lee also regularly acting as relief presenters. Vicky Lee and Natasha Stillwell are roving reporters, with Chris Harvey as a dedicated correspondent for Northern Scotland and Gerry McCulloch as the show's dedicated sports presenter. Grant Lauchlan, "Scotland Today's" Entertainment Correspondent, reviews the week's biggest film releases every Thursday, and weatherman Seán Batty provides a full national daily weather forecast, using state-of-the-art graphics. The female co-host was previously Debi Edward, who left the show after only a few months to become Scotland Correspondent for ITV News. Rachel McTavish was originally a stand-in before replacing Edward as main female presenter. [cite news
