Urso of Calabria

Urso of Calabria [Urso of Salerno, Ursus Salernitanus, Urso di Calabria.] (died 1225) was an Italian scholastic philosopher, and significant author of medical works in the school of Salerno. He has been thought the leading figure of the school [Brian Lawns, "The Salernitan Questions. An Introduction to the History of Medieval and Renaissance Problem Literature" (1963), Introduction.] , and its most important theoretician and Aristotelian [ [http://www.myriobiblos.gr/texts/english/Walter_Berschin_33.html Walter Berschin - 3. Amalfi, Salerno, Benevento, Monte Cassino ] ] . He had a European reputation [Donald Matthew, "The Norman Kingdom of Sicily" (1992), p. 117.] .
