railway station inOslo ,Norway onDrammenbanen that has never been taken into use. The station is located between Nationaltheatret andSkøyen Station inside theOslo Tunnel . It is located close to Gimle Cinema in Bygdøy Allé.History
The station was part of the original plans for the Oslo Tunnel developed by NSB in the 1960s. Construction of the station was made part of the tunneling, and the station area was excavated, including construction of the 220 metre platforms. Despite political pressure to complete the station in the 1980s, it has never been opened. After Nationaltheatret Station was expanded to four tracks in 1999, an opening of Elisenberg has become even less probable, since that would reduce the capacity in the tunnel back to the old level of 16 trains an hour, compared to the current 24.
