Faroudja was first acquired by SAGE [http://www.secinfo.com/dRqWm.59Am.d.htm SAGE Acquisition of Faroudja (SEC Info)] ] , and then by Genesis Microchip. Genesis Microchip integrated Faroudja's advanced video technology into its video processing IC's (integrated circuits) which are most commonly used in LCD and plasma screen TVs. Genesis Microchip still uses Faroudja branding but stopped manufacturing the Faroudja boxes. The Faroudja boxes are sold now by Meridian Audio.

Faroudja is world famous for DCDi (directional correlational de-interlacing) technology [ [http://www.gnss.com/tch_dcdi_overview.phtml DCDi by Faroudja] ] , and Film Mode [3:2] pull-down technology [http://www.gnss.com/tch_overview.phtml Genesis Microchip technical overview] ] .
