- R/C Stockcars
An R/C Stockcar is a 1/10th scale functional model of a New Zealand style stockcar.
Rules
Chassis:To be constructed of either steel or aluminium, and built using 1/10th scale donor cars
Car Mass:Must be between 2.8kgs - 4.5kgs (race-ready)
Car Dimensions:Maximum width - 320mmMaximum length - 450mm
Bumper Height:Minimum height 20mmAll cars must run a hoop on the front bumper - Minimum hoop height of 45mm measured from the ground and minimum width of 75mm wide
Motors:Must be brushed and between 27 and 23 turns with a fixed end bell.
Batteries:Must be a 6 cell 7.2v battery. Capacity of battery is open
Drivetrain:4wd or 2wd is allowed
Wheels and Tyres:Must be of 1/10 scale. Tyre choice is open
Bodys:Cars must run a body and bonnet that resembles a car body. Body and bonnet must be fitted at all times when racing.
Numbers:Cars must display their numbers on both sides of the body.
Donor Chassis
The chassis is made from either
steel oraluminium and then bolted to an R/C car donor chassis. The most common R/C donor chassis used is theTamiya TT-01 as they are cheap and tough, but any R/C chassis can be used if it fits within the rules.Racing
Racing is
contact (crashing is allowed) and is held on an oval track made fromtarmac orconcrete . Indoor venues are also used, floor types vary according to venue.
