The 1984 Sandown 1000 was the eleventh and final round of the 1984 World Endurance Championship season. It took place at
Sandown Raceway ,Victoria, Australia onDecember 2 ,1984 . This would be the first time in the history of the World Championship that a round had taken place in Australia.This event did not offer points in the Constructors Championship. Already unable to win the Drivers Championship, the
Martini Racing Lancia s chose not to participate in this event.An invitational class for Australian sports cars was allowed to compete under the "AC" title, but did not earn points in the Drivers Championship.
