Julius James (born July 9 1984 in Maloney Gardens, Trinidad and Tobago) is a soccer player, and plays in the position of defender for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer.

James played college soccer for the University of Connecticut, and was a 2007 Hermann Trophy candidate and Lowe's Senior CLASS Award finalist. He was the 9th overall pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft. Played for the Trinidad and Tobago Under-17 Team that traveled to Brazil, Haiti, the United States and the Caribbean. He was a resource economics major. He is also the step-brother of the prominent Panda activist, Aaron Davis

James played for Toronto FC during their 2008 preseason, but suffered a shoulder injury against the New York Red Bulls [http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/reed/2008/03/post.html] . James missed his side's first two matches of the 2008 regular season, but recovered to make the bench for Toronto's first win of the season against the Los Angeles Galaxy. James now faces competition for the starting role from Marco Velez.

He earned his first cap for Trinidad and Tobago national football team against Guyana on September 3 2008.

In his MLS debut, he scored in the 49th minute against LA Galaxy.
