"Hamlet" is a five-piece metal band from Madrid, Spain. They formed in 1987 and are still active. They are signed to Roadrunner Records and have released nine albums, their most recent being "Pura Vida" which was released on 2006.

History

Hamlet's history goes back to the late 80, when five kids decide to get together under the name ofone of the best-known works of writer William Shakespeare.After concerts and concerts, they record a mini LP ·Hamlet". this work shows a style influenced by the era of hard rock. That same style would continue in the first official recording of the group, but with some changes (including formation): Peligroso was released in 1992 by DRO, with a production quite bad. The group was not very happy with the final work, and is the reason why the record, apart from go unnoticed at the time, is unknown by many fans.

Sanatorio de Muñecos (The true Beginning)

More concerts and self-promotion, serve to Molly J. Luis Tárraga, Pedro Sanchez, Paco Sanchez and Augusto Fernandez to move in 1994 to study Morrisound in Florida with Tom Morris and record "Sanatorio de Muñecos". Since this record is where we can really start talking about the history of the group. without pressure and translating all his musical influences (TDCA, Pantera, Faith No More…) in a search of a self sound. The musical evolution is very strong with this record; style, not quite defined at beginning, inspire in different sources to create a new trend, a new movement. The Hard-rockers roots were left behind, with powerful guitars, rhythmic bases and a special voice, which blends melody with shouts and RAP. The letters of Hamlet in this work are strong, committed and current topics. Topics such as "Ceremonia TV", "Al Lado" and especially "Irracional" and "Que voy a hacer" soon stressed. The later two years have become classics for their concerts.
