The Metropolitan Auditorium or Telmex Auditorium (due to sponsorship reasons) is one of the main concert and performances center in the city of Guadalajara,Mexico . It is one of centerpieces of the University Cultural Center. On September 1st, 2007 the auditorium was oficially inaugurated with a major event headed byPlácido Domingo . Its current capacity goes from 2,700 to 9,500 depending on the event. It is considered one of the best and most modern auditoriums in Mexico.For the construction of the auditorium, the University of Guadalajara has been supported by the federal government, the government of Jalisco, the Municipality of Zapopan, the Chamber of Deputies of Congress and the state Congress. In the auditorium 'TELMEX', the spectators can enjoy top quality entertainment.
The Stage is very versatile because it has elevables platforms and mechanical resources very flexible, as well as a room with variable angles of 100, 73 and 60 degrees using a mobile wall. Besides, if the event requires it you can enjoy a drink or a beer in the comfort of your seat, though smoking is prohibited at all times. There are 27 suites with underground parking and direct access.
The viewer is furthest from the stage is just 64 metres from it, the stage measures 33x24 meters.
