Ben Bamfuchile

Ben Bamfuchile (1960 – 27 December 2007) was a football (soccer) manager from Zambia. Bamfuchile coached and led two different teams to the African Cup of Nations; the Zambia national football team in the 2000 African Cup of Nations, and the Namibia national football team in 2008. Bamfuchile became a sports hero in Namibia after he led the country's national team to a 3-2 victory over Ethiopia. The win qualified Namibia for the African Nations Cup finals. However, he resigned from his position in early December 2007 and returned to his native Zambia.

Bamfuchile died on December 27, 2007, of a short illness in the city of Kitwe, Zambia, just 3 weeks before the start of the 2008 African Cup of Nations.
