State Route 400, also known as Washington Street, is a primary state highway in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. It runs from the south city limits (Hunting Creek) north to First Street, [ [http://www.virginiadot.org/infoservice/resources/route-index-07012003.pdf Virginia Route Index] , revised July 1, 2003] forming a link of the George Washington Parkway and U.S. Bicycle Route 1. SR 400 is the eastern terminus of State Route 7 and State Route 236.

Most of SR 400, from Franklin Street to Powhatan Street, was once part of U.S. 1 and the present alignment (roughly ) of US 1 was then U.S. Route 1 Truck.
