Barry McDaniel (born October 18, 1930 in Lyndon,
Kansas ) is an Americanopera ticbaritone . After training at the Juilliard School of Music, he did much of his early work in Germany, mainly atStuttgart . In 1962 he joined theDeutsche Oper Berlin , retiring in 1999. In 1972 he made his debut at the New YorkMetropolitan Opera as Pelléas inDebussy 's "Pelléas et Mélisande".References
