National Road 13 ( _vi. Quốc lộ 13) is a highway ih southern Vietnam stretching from the northeastern outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, the commercial centre of the country, towards the Central Highlands, ending in the regional centre of Ban Me Thuot. The highway starts around Thu Duc on the northern outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, once the site of the military academy of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, and travels north and northeast through the provinces of Dong Nai, Song Be, Lam Dong and Dak Lak. The highway passes through the towns of Thuan An, Thu Dau Mot, Ben Cat, Bau Long, Dong Phu, Bu Dang, Kien Duc, Dak Nong Tu Xoay, Dak Min Dak To La and Ea Tung before reaching Ban Ma Thuot. It traverses predominantly highaldn terrain inhabitated mainly by the ethnic minorities of Vietnam.
