Kizhakeyil Lukose Sebastian

Prof. K. L. Sebastian [http://ipc.iisc.ernet.in/~kls/] is a Professor of chemistry at the department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He is one of the leading theoretical chemists of India working on the applications of quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics in chemistry and chemical physics. The topics studied include molecular devices, nanotechnology and surfaces, molecular ratchets, equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics of polymers, biophysical chemistry and chemical dynamics. Prof. Sebastian has been awarded Fellowship in the Indian Academy of Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy. Prof. Sebastian has authored more than 75 papers on various aspects of theoretical chemistry. He had also been given the Shanti swarup bhatnagar Prize in Chemical Sciences by the Government of India and recently has been awarded with the J. C. Bose National Fellowship by the Department of Science & Technology (DST). He is currently the Amrut Modi chair Professor in the Chemical Sciences Division of Indian Institute of Science.
