Mar John Menacherry

Mar John Menacherry (12 June 1857, Njarackal - 19 December, 1919) became in 1883 an ordained priest and Secretary to Mar Medlycott. In 1896 he was nominated titular bishop of Parlus and Vicar Apostolic of Trichur. In the same year he was consecrated Bishop at Kandy, by the Delegate Apostolic Zaleski and took charge of the Vicariate of Trichur. In 1911 Denacherry made his "Ad Limina" Visit to Rome. After 23 years of service Menacherry died in 1919, and was interred in the crypt of Lourde's Cathedral.
