Malcolm van Steeden

Malcolm van Steeden was an Argentine cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper who represented Argentina between 1996 and 2004. He was born in Hurlingham.

Van Steeden's debut cricketing performances came for the South of Argentina, playing against the North of Argentina at his home ground. Van Steeden was on the winning side in his debut, making the second highest score of the South's first innings, but underperforming in the second as the South were guided to a victory by Matias Paterlini, who made a second innings total of 126 not out.

Van Steeden later made one appearance in the South American Championship, and five appearances in games between the North and South of Argentina between 1998 and 2004. Van Steeden's final cricketing appearances came in the 2004 Americas Championship competition, in which Argentina finished second bottom in the table, with their only victory coming against the winless Bahamas.

Van Steeden was a middle-order batsman for whom 42 of his 52 ICC Trophy runs came in a single match, the final game of the Argentines' 2001 ICC Trophy season against Malaysia.
