- Sehba Akhtar
Sehba Akhtar (
September 23 ,1930 —February 19 ,1996 ) was born to Sir Rehmat Ali Rehmat, apoet and a contemporary of Agha Hashr Kashmiri, inSrinagar ,India . Sehba originally belonged to Amritsar. From childhood he had started writing verses in his school days. He passed his high school from Breli and later attended the Aligarh University. Later before partiation he visited Karachi along with Quide Azam to attend a public gathering organised by Students in Karachi. Soon after the partition between India and Pakistan, he shifted to Pakistan and also started writing poems and songs for Pakistani movies and people of Pakistan.Family
After the partition he married Saeeda Akhtar and later had six children: Rubina, Shehla, Azeem, Azam, Samina and Nadeem and they lived in Karachi.
Famous literature
He wrote many famous poems and songs for Pakistani people and in 1964 got involved in writing songs for Pakistani films.one of his national song " Mein bhi Pakistan Hoon Tu bhi Pakistan Hai " is not only famous but is sung by all and in all national occasions at different venues and on Pakistan independence day / celebration at Aiwan-e-sadar (President House).

His Poetry books are Sherkiashida , Iqra , Khazina, Mashal and Samandar.
Death
Monday,
February 19 ,1996 Later in 1995 he got very ill and went to London for his examination and insist to came back to Pakistan to launch his national poetry book " Mashal" and also celebrated the birth of his Grandson and named him "Bedar Bakht" alias Shahzaib Azam.

He is remembered as Shair-e-Pakistan and a man of promises.
In Karachi Pakistan at Gulshan Iqbal a road is named and remembered as Sehba Akhtar Road and a big library in Karachi Nazimabad is also named as Sehba Akhtar Library.
