Paul Public Charter School

Paul Public Charter School is a charter school in northwest Washington, D.C.. It is located at 5800 Eighth Street, at the intersection of Eighth and Olglethorpe Streets. The school opened its doors as a public charter high school in 2000. It has students from sixth through ninth grade (intermediate school) and is named in honor of Edward Paul. As of school year 2007-2008, Paul Public Charter School no longer serves 9th grade and now has students from sixth to eighth grade. Paul focuses on allowing its students to become M.E.R.I.T Scholars, which stands for Motivated, Educated, Responsible, Independent, Thinkers.

There are 617 students at Paul. Paul has 2% Asians and Pacific Islanders, 8% Hispanics, 76% African Americans, and 4% Caucasian.
