World Ice Arena in
Shenzhen was the first Olympic-size commercial ice skating rink inChina .Opened on January 1, 2005, the rink is located in a luxury complex called The MIXc at City Crossing, which consists of a five-storey mall, an office tower, three residential towers, the 43-storey Grand Hyatt Shenzhen and a second outdoor mall. Major tenants includeGucci (largest store in Asia),Louis Vuitton , Dunhill,Ermenegildo Zegna , Valentino, Coach,Escada ,Prada ,Hermès ,Armani and a multiplex cinema.Ted Wilson, an American, is general manager of the rink, and vice–general manager of the City Crossing complex, owned by China Resources Shenzhen, a developer of luxury properties in China. The skating school is directed by former champion figure skater Chén Lù. Her husband, former Russian champion figure skater
Denis Petrov , is the school's head coach.In 2007
China Resources Land announced plans to include Olympic-size ice arenas in luxury commercial projects inHangzhou ,Shenyang andChengdu , for which Wilson is project director.External links
