Laurent Chambon

Laurent Chambon (born may 22 1972 in Châtenay-Malabry France) is a French sociologist and politicologist living in Amsterdam since 1998. Specialist of the question of minorities in politics, he has been elected in the borough of Amsterdam Oud-Zuid for the Dutch Labour Party ("Partij van de Arbeid") in march 2006 [http://www.oudzuid.amsterdam.nl/bestuur_en/stadsdeelraad/samenstelling] . He is the only non-Dutch European politician in the Netherlands.

Co-fonder of the minority-related website [http://www.minorites.org Minorites.org] , he is quite visible, as sociologist and as politician, in the French media to talk about the Netherlands, and in the Dutch media to talk about the French situation. He is co-founder of the collective website Minorites.org.

He is also DJ and musician, one half of Laurent & Lewis.
